OBJECTIVE:

Lead the physical installation and inspections of life safety systems or other technologies on all assigned projects or inspections. Work alongside a team to ensure safety and quality objectives are met by adhering to industry standards and best practices.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Project and Inspection Kick-Off Meeting: Verify understanding of the project plan and review all project milestones. Follow all safety requirements and project plan or Inspection task responsibilities.

  • Executing Project and Inspection Plan:
  • Lead daily work project & Inspection plan including safe work practices and requirements.
  • Assist in cable pathway construction, cable pulling, device terminations, and system testing.
  • Ask questions when needed and look for next steps in project plan, always keeps busy and productive.
  • Monitor life safety systems during system inspections, and ensure connected devices are tested correctly.
  • Document test results of inspections.
  • Communicate Testing results and discrepancies to team, addressing any malfunctions immediately.
  • Review online documentation, utilizing checklists to ensure each device scheduled for testing gets tested.
  • Produce quality and efficient work.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Arrive to the job site on time and is self-driven to accomplish needed tasks.
  • Work as supportive team member, listening and gathering technical skill sets.
  • 25% Travel Required.

  • Work with leadership on process and continued improvements
  • Assist Sales team to help solidify client relationships

 

  • Closing the Project and Inspection: Perform customer walk-throughs if needed, submit documentation on all assigned projects.
  • Post Project and Inspection Meetings: Provide input to Project Manager or Field Supervisor on processes, procedures, tools, and best practices for improvement. Give recommendations to Sales and Engineering on improvement areas and project or Inspection successes.
  • Service: Responsible to support Service ticket completion as assigned and provide Mandatory support to CEC's 24/7 On Call rotation.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technician III leads team the Installation or Inspection while they are working on assigned projects.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience within CEC or similar company.
  • 2+ safety related certifications
  • 1 Industry certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-year technical degree (preferred)

Industry certifications and trainings can/will be obtained during the first year of employment to meet the minimum qualifications when applicable

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must have strong communication skills and general construction or mechanical knowledge.
  • General knowledge of communications systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, health care, and data networks.
  • PC proficiency (Windows environment) and working knowledge of Excel is preferred.

  • Problem solving, creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • The employee is required to be able to climb ladders up to 12 feet high or be in a lift to extended heights.
  • The duties of this job require the employee to effectively speak and understand English language communications.
  • The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
  • Lifting of objects is required, up to 50lbs.
  • Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities are also required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
